Pre & Post Treatment Homecare Advice
Spray Tanning
Preparation is the key to ensuring a long-lasting tan that fades evenly:
24 HOURS BEFORE TREATMENT
- Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate! Particular attention should be given to the Bra line if female, breast bone and underarms, elbow creases and backs of knees. These areas tend to fade first if not well exfoliated.
- Paint Finger and Toe nails (Optional)
- If you Wax or Shave, do so at least 24 hours in advance to allow pores time to close. GENTLEMEN: Waxing/ Shaving is not essential, the fine spray mist will penetrate body hair.
ON THE DAY OF TREATMENT
- NO Moisturiser
- NO Foundation (minimal eye make-up permitted)
- NO Deodorant
- NO Perfume/ Cologne
- BRING loose dark clothing for after your treatment
- WEAR flip flops or loose fitting shoes
AFTER CARE
- DO NOT bath or shower for a minimum of 8 hours (the development period)- preferably overnight
- DO NOT exercise or swim during the development period
- DO NOT touch your skin during the development period (Tip: wear loose socks over your hands in bed)
- After bathing/showering, PAT DRY ONLY, do not rub.
- MOISTURISE, Moisturise, Moisturise! Morning and night.
- After 5 -7 days, exfoliate on a daily basis to keep your skin looking fabulous
- NOTE Long exposure to water and sweating from exercise will fade your spray tan
Lash Extensions
During this treatment, individual synthetic lash extensions are carefully applied to your own individual lashes using medical grade adhesive. Although allergic reaction is rare, it is recommended that you attend a patch test 24 hours prior to treatment.
During the patch test, a small amount of each product used during the lash extension procedure including collagen gel patches, lash primer and glue will be applied to your natural lashes.
Natural eyelashes have a growth cycle of around 90 days so, you must anticipate some natural lash shedding and understand that infill treatment (recommended every 2-3 weeks) will be required to maintain the full lash effect
ON THE DAY OF TREATMENT
- Come wearing NO MASCARA
- Avoid using oil based products around the eyes
- If you wear contact lenses, bring your lens pot
FOR 24 HOURS AFTER TREATMENT
- Avoid exposure to moisture including steam
- Avoid touching or rubbing the eye area
- Avoid excessive HEAT as this may weaken the bonds in your extensions
- After 48 hours you may wash/ swim/ shower etc as if the lashes were your own.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
- DO NOT cover the eye area
- DO NOT rub the eye area
- DO NOT use oil based products on the eye area
- DO NOT apply mascara over the bonds

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
If an allergic reaction is suspected (incl swelling, redness or puffiness), contact your therapist immediately for advice, and in severe cases seek medical advice. It is recommended that you return to your therapist to have the extensions professionally removed. Do not attempt to remove the extensions yourself as this can cause further irritation and/ or infection.
Eyelash adhesive contains 2-ethoxyethyl 2-cyanoacrylate and is supplied with an EU Safety data sheet.
Waxing
It is important that you prepare correctly before arriving for a waxing treatment, to minimise the risk of in-growing hairs and ensure a long lasting wax. For an optimal wax, the hair should be around 5-6mm (1/4") in length. If hair is significantly longer (particularly in the pubic area) you may wish to trim the hair using clippers before your treatment.
24 HOURS BEFORE TREATMENT
- Exfoliate thoroughly using a mitt or puff to remove dead skin cells from around the follicles
- Moisturise thoroughly to hydrate the skin
ON THE DAY OF TREATMENT
- DO shower/ Bathe before your waxing treatment
- DO NOT apply Moisturiser or Lotion
- AVOID excessive caffiene consumption
- WEAR loose comfortable clothing
- NOTE some light soreness, small bumps and redness are common temporary side effects of waxing. These symptoms normally subside after 12- 48 hours, depending on skin type.
FOR 24 HOURS AFTER TREATMENT
- DO apply an antiseptic cream to protect and sooth the skin
- DO NOT apply any other products to the treated area (such as deodorant, moisturiser, foundation, tanning products)
- DO NOT scratch or touch the treated area
- DO NOT wear tight fitting clothing
- DO NOT exercise / swim / sauna / steam
- DO NOT bathe in hot water (Lukewarm water only)
- AVOID exposure to sunlight as you are more likely to burn
GENERAL AFTERCARE
-
Exfoliate three times a week using a clean mitt or puff, starting 2 DAYS AFTER your waxing treatment.
-
Moisturise daily
- DO NOT Shave between appointments
- DO Return to your therapist every 4-6 weeks
